Meanwhile, Sandy was leading Serena back to her secret grotto.

Serena: Sandy, why can't ya just tell me what this is all about?

Sandy: You'll see. It's a surprise.

Sandy showed Serena what it was. Serena couldn't believe her eyes.

Serena: Oh, Sandy.

It was the statue of Prince Ash right at the center. Serena was so overwhelmed with happiness, she hugged Sandy.

Serena: Sandy, you're the best! (goes to the statue) It looks just like him. It even has his eyes. (giggles) "Why Ash, run away with you?" (giggles) "This is all so... So sudden."

As she was feeling happier than ever, who should completely ruin the moment but King Drayden.

Serena: (gasps) Daddy?!

There stood her father looking angry, like any scolding father, behind him was Sebastian, looking very sorry. Sandy hid behind a reef, looking at Serena who was now in big trouble.

King Drayden: (firmly) As your father, I consider myself a reasonable merman. As King, I set certain rules, and as such, I expect those rules to be obeyed.

Serena: But Dad, I...

King Drayden: Is it true you rescued a human from drowning?

Serena: Daddy, I had to...

King Drayden: Contact between the human world and the mer-world is strictly forbidden. Serena, you know that! Everyone knows that! Even the sea Pokémon know that!

Serena: He would've died.

King Drayden: One less human to worry about!

Serena: You don't even know him!

King Drayden: Know him?! I don't have to know him! They're all the same! Spineless, savage, harpooning fish-eaters, incapable of any feeling...!

Serena: Daddy, I love him! (realizes what she said)

Both Sandy and Sebastian wished Serena hadn't blurted that out.

King Drayden: No!... Have you lost your senses completely?! He's a human, you're a mermaid!

Serena: (scornfully) I don't care!

King Drayden: So help me Serena, I am going to get through to you! (charging his trident) And if this is the only way... (darkly) So be it!

Then King Drayden used his trident to zap all of Serena's whole collection. She begged him to stop, but he wouldn't listen. He finally aimed towards the statue.

Serena: Daddy, NOOO!!!!

Too late, the statue was destroyed. Seeing her entire collection destroyed, Serena faced her father with tears in her eyes. At first King Drayden looked satisfied, but it soon turned to shock as he saw his daughter's face.

Serena: How could you?! (weeps) My mother wouldn't have wanted you to do this...

Then Serena fell to the floor, and began crying. King Drayden, who had been taken aback by the mention of her mother, began to regret what he had done.

King Drayden: (tries to get close) Serena, I...

Serena: (sniffles) Just leave me alone! I HATE YOU!!

Her shout echoed all around the grotto. King Drayden gasped upon hearing this. He wanted to say something, but he found that he couldn't, so he left.

King Drayden: (thinks to himself) Did she have to mention her mother?

Only Sandy and Sebastian stayed behind.

Sebastian: (moves closer) Serena, I am so sorry. I didn't...

Serena: (sniffles) Just go away.

Sebastian felt like he had betrayed her even though he didn't mean to. So he and Sandy left Serena all alone... To cry.

But she wasn't alone, for behind the destroyed pieces, the Eelektrik twins saw their chance and slowly approached her.

Flotsam: Poor child.

Jetsam: Poor, sweet child.

Serena stopped crying and looked up at the shifty twins.

Flotsam: She has a very serious problem.

Jetsam: If only there were something we could do.

Flotsam: But there is something.

Serena: Who... (wipes a tear away) Who are you?

Jetsam: Don't be scared.

Flotsam: We present someone who can help you.

Jetsam: Someone who could make all your dreams come true.

Flotsam/Jetsam: Just imagine...

Jetsam: You and your prince...

Flotsam/Jetsam: Together, forever.

Serena: I don't understand.

Jetsam: Oleana has great powers.

Serena: (gasps) The sea witch? Why that's... I couldn't possibly... No! Get out of here! Leave me alone! (turned away)

Flotsam: Suit yourself.

Jetsam: It was only a suggestion.

As he said that, Jetsam flicked a piece of the statue's face over to her with his tail. Serena saw the only intact piece of the prince's face and picked it up.

Serena: (looking at the face) Wait!

Flotsam/Jetsam: Yeeeeeeeeeess?

Outside the grotto, Serena's friends were in grief, especially Sandy.

Sandy: (sniffs) Poor Serena. How could you, Sebastian? What were you thinking?!

Sebastian: I-I didn't mean to tell, it was an accident.

Suddenly, they saw Serena with the Eelektrik twins swimming by.

Sebastian: Serena, where are you going? (swims up to her) Serena, what are you doing here with dis riff-raff?

Serena: I'm going to see Oleana.

Sebastian: (gasps) Serena, no! (grabs her tail fins) No, she's a demon! She's a monster!

Serena: Why don'cha go tell my father? You're good at that.

With that, she made Sebastian let go of her tail and swam off, leaving her friends behind.

Sebastian: But... But, I... (to Sandy) C'mon!

So the two friends followed them from way behind. The twins led Serena to a mid-ocean ridge where the canyons looked jagged and underwater volcanoes still smoked. Soon they led her to the witch's lair. It was a scary place; It looked like a large, vicious Gyarados just laying there, waiting for a meal to swim in. Serena was hesitant to go in, but the Eelektrik twins insisted.

Flotsam/Jetsam: This way.

Serena didn't want to go in, but she went in anyway. She didn't like it one bit; the inside was as scary as the outside. But not as scary as the kelp creatures she saw. One of the creatures clung onto her arms, soon the others tried to reach her, but she made them let go of her.

Then, she heard the voice of the witch herself.

Oleana: Flotsam... Jetsam... You divine little Sevipers. (sees Serena) Mmmm, I see you've brought a customer. (beckons her with a tentacle) Come in. Come in, my child. We mustn't lurk in doorways; it's rude. One might question your upbringing.

Serena finally met up with the sea witch, who toyed with Serena's hair with her tentacles for a bit.

Oleana: Ohhh... Ohhhh... Is this how they're wearing their hair back at the temple of Samiya nowadays? Of course, I wouldn't know. I've been banished forever by your dear, old daddy... Reduced to living in this wretched hovel for all eternity. And for what? (pretends to cry) Because I was ambitious? Because I made a few pitiful attempts to elevate my station in life?

Serena: You tried to overthrow my father!

Oleana: (chuckles) Oh, these things are blown outta proportion. (sighs) At any rate, I've reformed. I only do good these days. Now, then. You're here because you have a thing for this human. This, er, prince fellow. Not that I blame you; he is quite a catch, isn't he? Hmm-hmm. Well, angel fish, the solution to your problem is simple. The only way to get what you want... Is to become a human yourself.

Serena: (gasps) Can you do that?

Oleana looked at her with a scheming look in her eyes.

Oleana: My dear, sweet child. That's what I do. It's what I live for; to help unfortunate merfolk, like yourself. Poor souls with no one else to turn to.
(singing) I admit that in the past I've been a nasty
They weren't kidding when they called me, well, a witch
But you'll find that nowadays
I've mended all my ways
Repented, seen the light and made a switch
(speaks) True? Yes.

(singing) And I fortunately know a little magic
It's a talent that I always have possessed
And here lately, please don't laugh
I use it on behalf
Of the miserable, lonely and depressed
(whispers, to Flotsam & Jetsam) Pathetic.

(singing) Poor unfortunate souls
In pain, in need
This one longing to be thinner
That one wants to get the girl
And do I help them?
(speaks) Yes, indeed.

(singing) Those poor unfortunate souls
So sad, so true
They come flocking to my cauldron
Crying, "Spells, Oleana please!"
And I help them?
(speaks) Yes, I do.

(singing) Now it's happened once or twice
Someone couldn't pay the price
And I'm afraid I had to rake 'em 'cross the coals
Yes, I've had the odd complaint
But on the whole, I've been a saint
To those poor unfortunate souls

As she brought Serena over to her magic bubble cauldron, Oleana explained what she was going to do.

Oleana: Now, here's the deal. I will make you a potion that will turn you into a human for three days. Got that? Three days. Now listen, because this is important. Before the sun sets on the third day, you've got to get dear ol' princey to fall in love with you. That is, he's got to kiss you. Not just any kiss; A special kiss. The kiss of true love.

As Oleana explained to Serena on what she must do, Sandy and Sebastian finally caught up and saw what was happening.

Oleana: If he does kiss you before the sun sets on the third day, you'll remain human, permanently... But, if he doesn't, you turn back into a mermaid, and... You belong... To Me.

Sebastian: No Serena! Don't...

With lightning fast speed, the Eelektrik twins tied Sandy and Sebastian up, shutting them both up in the process.

Oleana: Have we got a deal?

Serena: If I become human... I'll never be with my father or sisters again.

Oleana: That's right... But, you'll have your man. (chuckles) Life's full of tough choices, innit? (singing) C'mon, I know you need a little magic
And magic is my specialty du jour
Don't just stand there looking sick
Would I kid you? Play a trick?
Like I told you, I don't do that anymore

So I think you ought to take my little bargain
Yes, I think you ought to make my little deal
Sure, it's hard to leave your life
But you could be a prince's wife
Why don'cha let me take that dream and make it real?
(chuckles) Oh, and there is one more thing. We haven't discussed the subject of payment. You can't get something for nothing, you know.

Serena: But I don't have any...

Oleana: I'm not asking much. Just a token, really, a trifle. You'll never even miss it. What I want from you is... Your voice.

Serena: (gasps, holds her hand to her neck) My voice?

Oleana: You've got it sweetcakes. No more talking, singing, zip!

Serena: (with concern) But without my voice, how can I...?

Oleana: You'll have your looks! Your pretty face! And don't underestimate the importance of body language! Ha!

Oleana then continued with her song while she began working her magic.

Oleana: (singing) The men up there don't like a lot of blabber
They think a girl who gossips is a bore
Yes, on land it's much preferred
For ladies not to say a word
And after all, dear, what is idle prattle for?

C'mon, they're not all that impressed with conversation
True gentlemen avoid it when they can
But they dote and swoon and fawn
On a lady who's withdrawn
It's she who holds her tongue who gets her man

C'mon, you poor unfortunate soul
Go ahead!
Make your choice!
I'm a very busy woman
And I haven't got all day
It won't cost much
Just your voice!

Ya poor unfortunate soul
It's sad
But true

Oleana showed Serena a contract. The contact read, "I hereby grant unto Oleana, the Witch of the Sea... One voice, in exchange for byon once high, Dinu*gihn thon Mueo serr on Puur-gurr I rehd moisn petn r m uenre urpti m srerp monk guaki, Ch rich noy ri imm ro mund for all eternity. Signed...."

Oleana: (singing) If you want to cross a bridge, my sweet
You've got to pay the toll
Take a gulp and take a breath
And go ahead and sign the scroll!
(speaks, whispers) Flotsam, Jetsam, now I've got her boys.
(singing) The boss is on a roll
This poor
Un-
Fortunate
Soul!

So Serena bravely wrote her signature on the contract. Oleana pulled the contract and her bubble cauldron began to brew as she sang the magic words:

Oleana: (singing) Beluga sevrgua, come winds of the Caspian Sea
Larynxes Glacydis Ad max Laryngitis la voce to me
(speaks) Now sing!

Serena vocalized as best she could.

Oleana: Keep singing!

While Serena vocalized, two magical arm-like things swooped down her throat and took her voice. Still vocalizing, Serena's voice is placed in Oleana's shell necklace. Oleana then started cackling like mad as her bubble grabbed Serena, and the transformation began.

Sandy and Sebastian covered their eyes through the horror they were witnessing. Serena's mermaid tail then turned into human legs and feet. After the transformation, Serena is shown still in her pink seashells and a pink piece of cloth covering the space where her new legs met her torso.

Realizing she couldn't breathe underwater anymore, Sandy and Sebastian swam to Serena and pulled her away from the lair and the still cackling Oleana, and up to the surface... Faster, and faster... And finally, Serena breathed fresh air upon breaking out of the sea.

Sandy and Sebastian carried Serena and took her on towards land. But now, will Serena be able to get Prince Ash to fall in love with her and kiss her before it was too late?
